This is a refreshing voice as have been studying and researching all things “emergent” so as to help equip others. After reading books, blogs, and articles both for and against emergent - for me there has been a certain understanding once you really dig into the details - that Emergent thought is a move to reintroduce modernism into Christianity.
For me, in all I’ve read, very few are making this point. The point is this: How do you combat error when we cannot understand what this error is?
Just got through reading the commentary of a Dr. Franklin Fowler. It was He who steered me to this article. I sense he and you and numerous others are expressing ever growing fears of what is to become of Christ in a conglomerate “christianity.”
We should not forget that it is not Satan who truly controls world issues. It is the devil’s operations against the evidences of time with regard to God’s words concerning his limitations established for his “time of the end.” The Devil knows what the Emergent Churches have for centuries have been, and are yet, to this “time of the end” era quoting the very words of the Christ they profess to believe in. But and if we read and comprehend Jesus prophet, Daniel, whom Jesus commended we should “read and understand” concerning these final eschatological years of history, we should be counting them as does the Devil himself; because he aint guessing.Satan actually “knows his time is short” by a literal count of years. Jesus Paul and John knew at what point of the chronology set forward of prophetic sequence outlined through Daniel should commence toward the close of “the time of the end.”
That world leader so anticipated has been ever in his development since after the fall of the Roman Empire. His power was briefly weakened after “the time, times and the dividing of time.” But after 1929 his palace between the seas was restored to him and the latter years of “the time of the end” extended to Satan are presently in their final countdown.
That one world leader all christianity has ever anticipated has been amid us from the very rise of Western Christian civilization. Daniel made reference to him as “the little horn.” Paul made mention of him as “The Mystery of Iniquity” to preced the event of Jesus Second Coming.”
Which of your varied doctorate degrees in eschatology answer truthfully? Is not Jesus, the Messiah, very “Spirit of all Bible prophecy?”
