It seems to me that the senior pastor should have stepped down. While we all make mistakes, this is really a BIG one and, for the sake of the victims and the church, he should have just went on his merry way. But unfortunately, another church fell prey to satan and the works of the flesh. Hope the victim(s) received good professional help. Vengence belongs to the Lord (however that might play out), and as one wise woman said, (let me paraphrase), my revenge is to seek total recovery! Thank you Jesus and thank you Father God for your work in our lives! Amen

I WAS AND STILL AM A AVID FOLLOWER OF ADRIAN ROGERS THE FORMER PASTOR OF BELLEVUE BAPTIST CHURCH. IT SADDENS ME TO READ OF THE CHANGE OF THE CHURCH UNDER THE NEW PASTOR PASTOR GAINES. I BELIEVE THEIR BIG PROBLEM IS WHEN THEY LET HOLINESS BE TAKEN OUT OF A CHURCH. I AM AT THE PRESENT TIME LOOKING FOR SUCH A CHURCH NOW THAT HAS THREE THINGS IN THEIR SERVICES. THEY MUST PREACH THE GOSPEL LIKE JESUS DID, THEY SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE AT THE CLOSE OF THE SERVICE A INVITATION FOR LOST SOULS AND THE SANCTUARY ALWAYS TO BE TREATED AS A HOLY PLACE OF GOD. I WILL PRAY FOR BELLEVUE BAPTIST CHURCH FOR I KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH.

I was unaware of any of this … I just stumbled across this article posted in 2007. I had heard of rumors causing a church split but as I stated I was not aware of the details . I am a Chaplain and had attended about 10 years under direction of adrian Rogers whom I felt a strong sense of godliness. I have however noticed a significant shift in the singing Christmas tree performance this past year leaning more secular God Bless !
