While I feel that we should pray for our church leaders, and certain concerns should be addressed. They should not be published for the entire world to read. I think it is a bad testimony and leaves a bad impression of the Cause of Christ. It is not the cross that has failed, but the men who comprise. Keep it within the walls of the church and correct it there.

Of course, this is all your OPINION. You do not have biblical basis. Jesus and his disciples were not IFB church members, they did not wear coat and ties, sing hymns and have Sunday School and three church services and training union. And I bet they had LOUD music with their tamborines and other Jewish instruments and I am sure Jesus sang right along with them. You have put man made traditions and you are the ones who are like the Pharisees…. Billy Graham is responsible for multitudes coming to Christ… who are you to publicly speak against him, along with these other fine Christian men? You are the one that is not obeying Christ here… you have come on publicly to talk against men who are giving their lives for the ministry to which God has called them.

I feel sorry for you.

I like what you said. I was a member of that church in MI. As a kid I loved it way back then. And I do believe that church is way out there. People are not standing up for want is right and true. If the old preachers that are in heaven could roll over in their grave they would. I am glad I go to a good church my pastor came from Hyles school about 20 years. He stands for right and the old KJV BIBLE AMEN!

Keep sharing what is right. Sometimes it might look wrong but you’re right. Don’t keep it in the walls because people need to know want kind of church to go to.

No one to stand in the ‘GAP’ since BRO. ROLOFF passed on, no serious SACRIFICIAL LIVING, SEPARATED, HOLY BIBLE KJV, GOSPEL PREACHING, ‘MAN OF GOD’ AROUND TO BE AN EXAMPLE TO OTHER PREACHERS/PASTORS AND “ALL FUNDAMENTAL CHRISTIANS” TO WANT TO LISTEN TO OR TO FOLLOW THEIR CHRISTIAN WAY OF LIFE.

NO MORE POWERFUL IND. BAPT. BIBLE CONF. UNTIL SOMEONE IS INTERESTED IN “JESUS AND OTHERS” TO HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND BE EXALTED BY “GOD ALMIGHTY” INSTEAD OF PERSONAL MINISTRY BUILDING FOR THEM AND THEIR CHILDREN AND TO COMPARING THEMSELVES AMONG THEMSELVES.

JESUS HAVE THE PREEMINENCE!

Dr. Boys is correct. The Southwide Fellowship is a long way from it’s moorings. I can no longer attend or support such apostasy. As far as exposing compromisers, it must be done and Dr. Boys has done the right thing.

I still believe we are to “cry aloud, and spare not!” Dr. Boys, you have every Biblical right to express your view concerning the “new & improved” Southwide “Baptist” Fellowship. I am a graduate of T.T.U. (Dr. Lee Roberson), and I have also seen this “slide” into compromise. There is only one answer: “Repent,” and return to “First Love” ministry and fellowship!

I somewhat agree with the opinions stated. Some churches are very liberal nowadays and the church needs to stand for what is right even if they are hated for it. I also think that cultural relevence is semi important because the people today have different issues than those who attended church in 1950. Northridge church is not completely bad & I think most of the people there have good intentions. They need revival for sure. I think we should be careful to judge others & we should keep the people critized in this artical in prayer.

It is with good news to report that this week the Old Southwide Baptist Fellowship is back with over 150 Indepdendent Baptist Churches represented. The meetings are in Louisville, KY at the Shawnee Baptist Church. Dr. Byron Foxx is the moderator along with the Vice-Moderator Lonnie Mattingly. So the old fellowship is back and better than ever. Come support u!s

MANY things can be said as it relates to your above comments, but allow me to hone in on just one of the many, where you said that “denominations are not scriptural”.

The fact of the matter is, IFB churches ARE a denomination. Now, you may choose to call ‘em a/thing you want, and try to paint the picture with a different brush, but they hold most of the same distinctions as any other “denomination”.

The problem is, “independent” churches try so hard to let e/one know they are “independent”…that in itself is a crying shame. Then on the flip side of the same coin, most IFB church pastors have NO clue who the OTHER IFB pastor is who pastors just 1/2 way across the town! Oh, but you say, “Sure, it’s Brother So-n-So”. Puleeeeeeeeease…is that the best you can do?!

Why is it IFB churches don’t get together with OTHER IFB churches in the same town for let’s say meetings, events, etc? Nooooooo…they hobknob and rub shoulders with those in distant states at conventions to tout their own accomplishments, but there’s no real love for the brother across the street in their own town.

The IFB churches have strayed from their early beginnings, and while you mention Lee Roberson and the likes, they would turn over in their proberbial graves if they were to see how men like Jack Hyles and others have destroyed the “movement”.

Pride is an obvious sin of many IFB churches across our land…Lord, please save us!

I am a member of NorthRidge church. Brad Powell is my pastor. He is a Godly man. He teaches from the Bible every week. Do you know how many people have come to know Christ since he has been the pastor? I also attended Temple Baptist, the church’s name prior to the change. It was judgement all amd cold. Black people were not baptized there because they didn’t want them to be members. That is really Biblical. The Church needs to untied over denominations and hit their knees and ask God to save this country. We do not need to argue among ourselves over petty differences. Brad Powell teaches salvation every message he gives. Sorry if he is t Brimstone enough for you.
